A logo is simply a graphic representation of a symbol, sign, or an emblem or a combination of text with an icon that identifies your business. It must be original, memorable, and solidly designed.
We see logos on multiple things like business cards, letterhead, websites, vehicles, billboards, flyers, leaflets, so you must focus on its adaptability.
It doesn’t wave any special offers to you; the branding materials job like a flier, leaflet, posters, and the logo is always there. Even though the materials look different, using types of photography or graphics elements, icons, text, LOGO is the only constant value on all branding materials you see from a brand.
A logo brings feelings and emotions that you may have had when you saw those materials.
Uses of Logos:
A logo is used in various branding materials such as company business cards, official letterhead, stamps, and other branding materials.
Some of the basics branding materials where the logo is most used are:
- Business Card
A business card collects details of an employee/company associated with the brand. It includes personal email address, contact numbers, office location.
- Letterhead
A letterhead is a corporate stationery design where the top header and footer consist of the brand logo and company details, including phone number, PAN Number, and company address.
It is mainly used while sending the price quotation, internship letters, and billing purposes.
- Envelopes
Envelopes carry vital information such as financial billing, proposal, official letters, and critical information to the recipient. Envelopes are mainly designed in 2 sizes: small and large. Any official documents that can be folded and sent are kept in small envelopes, while large ones are used to passing the documents like offer letters, internship letters, and proposals.

Types of Logos.
Logos are categorized into five different types.
- Iconic/ symbol-
These logos represent brands in a simple but bold and confident manner. An icon is represented graphically in these logotypes, which carries a special meaning and purpose.
It can easily be recognized through its symbols and colors.
E.g., Apple, Nike.
- Wordmark logo:
The logos designed using only the fonts are categorized as wordmark logos. A unique font is intended for the brand, and the font itself carries the whole brand.
E.g., Cocacola
- Lettermark logos:
This type of logo is similar to the wordmark logo, but they use the initials of the brand name.
It can be said to be the combination of wordmark and icon.
E.g., HP- Hewlett Packard, where H and P are included in the icon and used as the primary logo of the brand.
It is easily recognized by the icon rather than the brand’s name.
- Combination Mark Logos:
This category logos are the combination of wordmark and symbol as one. You can use wordmark on their own and signs on their own.
E.g: Adidas
- Emblem Logo:
It is pretty similar to combination marks but fully encapsulated within a design forming a shield or crest. The text and symbol are both designed within it. It carries a rigid and bold meaning and is used mainly by automobile companies.
E.g., Lamborghini, Harley Davidson.
